The Murder of Jamiel Shaw II – A Young Man We Must All Know

By @Orangeone4

Originally Blogged – August 16, 2013

Jamiel Shaw II, “Jas” to his family and “Wilshire” to his friends, was a young man I was never honored to meet but feel a deep sense of loss with his murder.  When I learned of this young man, stripped of his life by an illegal alien, I knew his story needed to be shared.

While Jamiel’s mother Army Sgt. Anita Shaw served for our great nation Iraq, she entrusted that this country would keep her son safe.  But that was not the case.  Instead he was murdered by an illegal alien on March 2, 2008 because the government failed him.  Just 17 years old, he was three houses from home when an illegal alien member of a local gang shot him and robbed the United States of this great young man.

No mother should have to bury her son.  No mother should have to fight for the US government to enforce its rule of law.  No mother should have to worry that her family will be at risk when she defends the freedom and liberty no other country in the world enjoys.

I am outraged that Jamiel is not with us today.  I am heartbroken that I will never meet this young man who worried about his mom’s safety while she served in Iraq.  I am incensed that it is the direct result of inaction by the elected officials and law enforcement agencies charged with securing our borders, deporting illegal aliens and protecting the sovereignty of this nation.  Nothing has improved since our country lost this great young man.

About the Murderer – Illegal Alien DREAMer

Jamiel’s killer is a DREAMer and would have been included in previous amnesty bills and Barack Obama’s illegal Executive Order on DACA.   The Shaw family believes Jas’ murder was a hate crime but the government disagreed.  Jas did NOT have a criminal record, was not in a gang database, was NEVER detained by ANY Law Enforcement Officer or any school police.

In stark comparison, the murderer was negligently released from jail back into an unknowing community 24 hours before he murdered Jas, was a known and documented gang member, had a long criminal history including prior gun charges (another illegal offense) yet was never deported.

Listen Up Legislators – You Work for Americans Not Illegal Aliens

I blame our government, Democrats, Republicans, Libertarians and Independents alike.  I hold the former Administration responsible for their endless attempts at shoving through the “Dream Act” which encouraged more illegals to cross our borders and those already here to stay.

The current Administration and Congress are responsible for ignoring the increased violence and murder of our citizens by crafting yet another amnesty program that gifts citizenship to people who have entered our country illegally.  How many more citizens must be violated?  How many more lives must be lost?  How many more mothers and fathers must bury their children because politicians are focused on lobbyists, special interest groups, minority groups rather than the citizens of the United States of America?  How many more young men like Jamiel will be lost to America forever because of your inaction to protect US citizens from illegal alien invaders?

In particular I blame you Senators Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Dick Durbin (D-IL), Robert Menendez (D-NJ), Michael Bennet (D-CO), John McCain (R-AZ), Lindsey Graham (R-SC) Jeff Flake (R-AZ), Marco Rubio (R-FL) for pushing a massive amnesty bill instead of focusing on border security and deportation of illegal aliens.

Through your direct actions you have told the Shaw family and the other families that have lost loved ones to the violence perpetrated by illegal aliens, the victims and family members of those robbed, burglarized, threatened, assaulted, molested, raped and murdered by illegal aliens, many of whose perpetrators have not been caught, convicted and sentenced to death but roam free within our borders to commit more crimes and lined up for their amnesty and citizenship gift because they have never been arrested and convicted that the crimes perpetrated against them are unworthy of your respect and that the criminal are entitled to rewards for their illegal behavior.

As for you John Boehner (R-OH), Eric Cantor (R-VA), Bob Goodlatte (R-VA), Trey Gowdy (R-SC), pimping a “kid’s act” to grant citizenship and amnesty to ‘children of illegal aliens’ brought to the United States is a slap in the face to US citizens.

Shame on you Rand Paul for referring to illegal aliens as undocumented citizens and promoting that giving them citizenship for their lawless behavior is fair.

You disgust me Harry Reid, Mitch McConnell, Diane Feinstein, Barbara Boxer.  Your responsibility and that of the entire House of Representatives, U.S. Senate and the President lies SOLELY with United States citizens, our children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins, not those of illegal aliens who themselves are in our country illegally.  Your actions demean Jamiel’s life and memories.

I ask you elected officials: What about Jamiel’s dreams?  He loved life, was loved by many and lit up the world with his smile.  This talented Los Angeles High School athlete studied hard, played football, basketball, baseball and the piano.  He attended church, trusted in the Lord, and studied his bible, frequently discussing passages with his Aunt.  He was college bound with dreams of playing in the NFL!  I demand you elected officials tell the Shaw family why the murder of their son Jamiel doesn’t matter to you but amnesty for illegal aliens like the one that murdered him does.

And big corporate America, you are not without blame.  Your economic greed is unconscionable.  Hire American citizens, employ and train our youth; pay them a livable wage.

Action Items

Learn about and discover how you can help pass Jamiel’s law.  Jamiel’s Law  is a grassroots effort to target illegal alien gang members like the one that murdered Jamiel.  The statistics show that 80% or more of these illegal alien gangs, (18th street & ms13,etc.,), are living in the United States illegally. Law Enforcement is aware of this fact, as well as Local Politicians.

Background (from the Official Site for Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi)

Sgt. Tahmooressi is currently being held in a Mexican Prison since March 31st 2014. Andrew was in San Diego receiving treatment for a recently diagnosed PTSD condition when he made a wrong turn and ended up at the Mexican border. He informed the border patrol agents he did not want to enter Mexico and that he had all his belongings with him including three personal firearms that are legally registered to him. Andrew placed a 911 call to seek help, but they informed him that if he already crossed into Mexico, they could not help him, and he was subsequently arrested on weapons charges and held in Tijuana’s La Mesa Penitentiary. There, he was threatened by inmates, stripped and beaten repeatedly by guards, denied water, and chained to his cot for more than 30 days. He has since been moved to El Hongo prison in Tecarte.

Support HRes. 620 and HRes. 612

House Resolutions #620 and #612 were introduced by Rep. Ted Poe (R-TX) on June 11, 2014. There are currently 81 co-sponsors of this BI-PARTISAN legislation.

HRes. 620 summary is as follows:

Expresses the sense of the House of Representatives that: (1) the government of Mexico should release U.S. Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi and provide for his return to the United States so he can receive appropriate medical assistance, and (2) the President should utilize the full powers and authorities of his office to secure Sgt. Tahmooressi’s release.

The bill was introduced in the House of Representatives on June 11, 2014 and referred to the House Foreign Affairs and the Committee on Foreign Affairs, who subsequently referred to the Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere on September 8, 2014.  The bill is scheduled for _____________

HRes. 612 summary is as follows:

Expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that the Government of Mexico should forthwith repatriate Sgt. Andrew Paul Tahmooressi from Mexican prison(s) and expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that the President of the United States should take actions to impose sanctions on Mexico until such time as Sgt. Tahmooressi is released.

Sean Hannity mentions in his tweet below, the House Foreign Affairs Committee has scheduled a hearing for Wednesday October 1.  Can you believe this is during recess?  His question is paramount, will they return to uphold their responsibility to protect America and seek the release of Andrew Tahmooressi?

I believe it is important to list EACH of the 81 co-sponsors of both HRes. 620 and HRes. 621 and have done so here.  Please be sure to thank each of them! If your Representative IS NOT on this list, call their D.C. and local offices and REQUEST they co-sponsor this vital set of legislation!.

Holocaust Remembrance Day

LIVE from Poland – March of the Living from Auschwitz to Birkenau 9:00 am ET

By @orangeone4

Today @fourcornersusa1 honors those who endured the most deplorable actions imaginable through a series of tweets from the IDF (@IDFspokesperson) and others.

Be sure to click on the tweet link to read her full story.

From one of my dearest tweeps.  If you are on Twitter, @DrMartyFox is a must #follow.

Prime Minister Netanyahu (@Netanyahu) opened the annual memorial day with a stern warning

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu opened the country’s annual memorial day for the 6 million Jews killed in the Holocaust by issuing a stern warning Sunday to the world to learn the lessons of the past and prevent another Holocaust.

At the opening ceremony at the Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial, Netanyahu linked the Nazi genocide to Iran’s suspected drive to acquire nuclear bombs and its leaders’ repeated references to the destruction of Israel and its denial of the Holocaust. Netanyahu said that just like before World War II, there were those in the world today who refused to face uncomfortable truths.” Read full coverage here.

International Holocaust Remembrance Day

The International Day of Remembrance was established as January 27th.  From the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

“President Shimon Peres released the following special statement to commemorate International Holocaust Remembrance Day from Israel’s President Peres:

“The Holocaust is a great warning to us all. We shall never forget our sisters and brothers. We have to ensure that it is not repeated and to ensure that we never go back to the days when humans behaved as beasts. Forgetfulness is a menace, we must remember and remember to love and respect everyone no matter the color of their skin or the origin of their birth. Moses taught us that every human being was made in the image of the Lord, no one has the right to take that away.

We have a duty to remember the past but also to improve the future. This is not just a memorial day but a call to us all to move ahead, never forgetting the past but never losing hope in the future. Let us not be satisfied by condemning the Holocaust but rather join our hearts and hands to ensure that we live in a world where another Holocaust is impossible. Let God remind us of this duty, this call to remember and to hope.”

And from Prime Minister Netanyahu (@Netanyahu) :

“Even today, when there is broad agreement that the Holocaust should have been prevented, the world is not crying out in the face of a regime that calls for our destruction and even receives with open arms the man who represents it. In the face of a state that openly calls for the destruction of the state of the Jews, everyone clears their throat in the face of the smiles. The attitude toward the State of Israel is not proportionate to the issues that are on the agenda. It also shows us that in the harassment of Jews there is thousands of years of continuity to the phenomenon of anti-Semitism.

Last week the Knesset witnessed one of the most important speeches that have ever been made within its walls. In this speech, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper said that the singling out of the State of Israel is extreme and disproportionate by any reasonable standard, that it also undermines the foundations of Western civilization which is supposed to fight for both our rights and those of others. Against the attempt to deny the legitimacy of the state of the Jews, we must fight for and demand our rights.”

Voter Registration Victory: Kobach vs. US EAC

By @Orangeone4

Congratulations to Kansas and Arizona for securing an Order from the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas, order the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (“EAC”) to stand down, move aside and insert the state-specific instructions for proof of citizenship to the federal mail voter registration form for their respective states and according to their state laws.

Kansas, through its Secretary of State  Kris Kobach, joined two days later by Arizona’s Secretary of State Ken Bennett, sued in August 2013 when the EAC refused to update the federal mail voter registration form, claiming an administrative issue because the Commission positions are  vacant. Might this be another Obama Administration ploy to ignore state-legislated voter ID laws passed to help ensure only citizens are voting?

The lawsuit went on to ask the Court to declare the National Voter Registration Act (“NVRA”) unconstitutional as applied by the Obama Administration and the Wilkey memorandum (an internal EAC procedure permitting the Commission to not act) unlawful.

Upon instruction by the Court, the EAC issued its decision that the federal, not state governments, decide what is required proof of citizenship and that nothing beyond signing an “oath” was necessary.  The basis of the Kansas and Arizona suit is violation of the states’ constitutional rights.

In its decision, the Court stated it has authority to “hold unlawful and set aside agency action, findings, and conclusions found to be:

(A) arbitrary, capricious, an abuse of discretion, or otherwise not in accordance with law;
(B) contrary to constitutional right, power, privilege, or immunity;
(C) in excess of statutory jurisdiction, authority or limitations, or short of statutory right;
(D) without observance of procedure required by law;
(E) unsupported by substantial evidence in a case subject to sections 556 and 557 of this title or otherwise reviewed on the record of an agency hearing provided by statutes; or
(F) unwarranted by the facts to the extent that the facts are subject to trial de novo by the reviewing court.

The Court, justifiably skeptical, questioned how Miller could issue a 46-page decision once ordered to do so by the Court but previously stated no authority to issue a decision based on Arizona’s and Kansas’ requests.

The Court found, in accordance with Article 1, section 2, clause 1 and the 17th Amendment:

The Constitution gives each state exclusive authority (emphasis added) to determine the qualifications of voters for state and federal elections.”

Citing the ITCA (Inter Trial Council of Arizona LLC) case, the court reiterated: “ITCA also strongly indicated that this board power (Congress’ power to regulate voter registration) is not unlimited.”  The opinion in the ITCA case emphasized that “the Elections Clause empowers Congress to regulate how federal elections are held, but not who may vote in them. (emphasis added)

The Court unanimously concluded:

“The States’ exclusive constitutional authority to set voter qualifications necessarily includes the power to enforce those qualifications.”

Pointing to the NVRA, the court concluded that the state-specific requests by Arizona and Kansas to support citizenship are in fact authorized.

“The state-specific instructions shall contain the following information for each state, arranged by state: the address where the application should be mailed and information regarding the state’s specific voter eligibility and registration requirements.”

Further, the regulations include the method for a state to notify the EAC with voter eligibility requirements, and nowhere is it required that states receive EAC approval:

“(c) Each chief state election official shall notify the Commission, in writing, within 30 days of any change to the state’s voter eligibility requirements or other information reported this section.”

In summary, the Court held that the EAC does not have the authority to prevent states’ instructions for proof of citizenship be included on the federal mail voter registration form and that the EAC unlawfully withheld and failed to perform its nondiscretionary duty to change the federal form.

You can read the entire Court decision here.

US Senate Candidate for #MN: #OathKeeper @PhillipCParrish

By @Orangeone4

I was introduced to Phillip Parrish through Twitter!  Being a Minnesota citizen, vetting of the candidates is vital as we select Al Franken’s replacement!

“Support and encourage those among us demonstrating honor, courage, commitment, integrity, honesty, a genuine love for our constitution, America, and Minnesota to believe they can stand up and lead. Honor those who have suffered and died in the pursuit of liberty and justice for all.”

Watch his introductory video here:

On the Issues (from his campaign site)

National Security – “Phillip Parrish believes a national foreign policy based on Peace through Strength is the best formula to safeguard our shores.  As the next U.S. Senator from Minnesota, Phillip will work to maximize Minnesota’s role in equipping America’s military with the resources and technological edge necessary to win the conflicts of the 21st century…Parrish recognizes the chief responsibility of Congress is to protect the American people from threats to our national security, both foreign and domestic.”  Read about Minnesota entrepreneurs and technology used by our military here.

Empower States – “The Highway Trust Fund is insolvent and the Obama Administration and Democratic Party Liberals, like Al Franken and Elizabeth Warren, are intent on raising the Federal Gasoline Excise Tax by 10 cents to 18 cents per gallon.  Phillip Parrish believes it is time to empower Minnesota to rise above the gridlock and EPA agendas in Washington DC by phasing out the Highway Trust Fund. ”  Read his full position statement here.

Immigration – “Congress has failed in its responsibility to secure our borders.  Phillip Parrish opposes blanket amnesty for those in America illegally.  Phillip believes that enforcing current laws and cutting federal funding to “sanctuary cities” are the first two steps Congress should take in the quest to mend our broken immigration system.”  Continue reading his position on our rule of law and expedited deportations here.

Protect Our Courts – “Phillip Parrish believes that the U.S. Constitution is the most positive expression of social justice the world has ever witnessed.  To protect America’s federal courts, Phillip will filibuster and oppose the confirmation of activist judicial nominees.  To Restore OUR Republic, Phillip will vote to confirm judicial nominees who have consistently based their rulings on the original intention of the framers of the Constitution.”  You can read his commitment in full here.

Second Amendment – “The Second Amendment to the Constitution is clear: “A well-regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”  As a member of the National Rifle Association, Phillip Parrish opposes any encroachment on the Second Amendment, and when elected to serve Minnesota, Phillip will oppose any future attempt to erode the rights of law-abiding citizens to own firearms.  To Phillip’s mind, the issue is cut and dry—gun rights are not negotiable.”

Enhance Adoption as the Option – “Phillip Parrish believes in the sanctity of every human life and in the restorative power of the American family unit. By enhancing Adoption as an Option, Phillip will pursue a legislative agenda that empowers women, saves innocent lives and restores hope to those in foster care.  As an adoptive father and as a former Principal of the Austin based Gerard Academy and Treatment Center for girls and boys with behavioral disorders, Phillip is uniquely qualified to craft legislation that promotes Adoption as an Option for expectant mothers considering abortion.

Farewell to Obamacare – Read Parrish’s repeal and replacement position here.

Abolish the Death Tax – “The American people overwhelmingly believe that the Federal Estate Tax is nothing short of a double tax on a life’s worth of hard work.  Phillip Parrish agrees and believes that the Death Tax is both punitive and immoral.  The number one reason families are not handing small farms and businesses down to the next generation in America today, remains the Death Tax.  Abolishing the Death Tax will generate over 1 million jobs around the country at a time when millions of Americans have given up the search.  As Senator, Phillip Parrish will stand as a champion of the American dream by supporting legislation that enacts the full and permanent repeal of the Federal Estate Tax.  Death should never be a taxable event.” (emphasis added)

Next #GA Governor David Pennington

By @Orangeone4

Although FourCornersUSA focuses its blogs on national House and Senate candidates, this Gubernatorial candidate struck me  as an exceptional example of a Constitutional conservative who MUST be featured!  Pennington did not hold back on his opposition to amnesty. Catch our Twitter exchange:

Meet David Pennington (@DavidforGeorgia) (from his campaign site)

Pennington founded Advanced Insurance Strategies, is a 3rd generation small business owner and is a proven job creator.  David graduated from the University of Georgia and majored in economics.

As Mayor of Dalton, property taxes were reduced 28%, general fund spending was significantly cut, and the emergency surplus increased by over 50%.  He also cut business license fees by 50% and streamlined the process to encourage entrepreneurs and job creators.   He donated his Mayoral salary to Dalton State College, which funded scholarships for 24 hard-working students.

This video is well worth the 7 minutes!  He had me with:

“For too long too many politicians have put themselves before the people.  They forgot campaign promises are not just to win elections, they are a trust between the candidate and the people.”

Watch the entire presentation below where David speaks of streamlining government, bringing ETHICS back to government, job creation {he is a proven job creator as a small business owner and Mayor}, returning education decisions to families and the local communities, cutting welfare fraud and waste, and focusing on a “hand up” rather than a “hand out”.

Awards and Recognition

From his site: “Recognition is appreciated, but it has to be earned. David has been recognized with the Rotary Guardian of Ethics Award in 2013, inducted into the Northwest Georgia Business Hall of Fame in 2013, presented with the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Humanitarian Award in 2012, received the Dalton Rotary Club Lee Arrendale Vocational Excellence Award in 2011, given the Carlton “Corky” Kell Award for contributions to Georgia athletes and coaches in 2010, and received an award from the Dalton/Whitfield Chamber of Commerce as Business Leader of the Year in 1995.”

On The Issues (from his tweets and campaign site)

Constitution – “David believes government is there to protect individual liberty and freedom, not restrict it.  Our Constitution at both the state and federal level is not just a piece of paper, it provides the roadmap for how our government must (emphasis added) operate. David believes strongly we are endowed by our creator with inalienable rights including Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

Second Amendment – David’s 2nd Amendment video says it all.  Click on the link the tweet to view.

Education – Pennington is the FIRST recipient of the Education Liberty Award (read his press release here) and has pledged to stop Common Core in Georgia. He is also endorsed by the Education Freedom Coalition.  His full position can be read here.

And has the Savanah Tea Party(@Savteaparty) support for the halt of Common Core!

Religious Liberty – Pennington has stated Religious Liberty Legislation is a priority.  Read his full statement here.

Ethical Leadership for Georgia – “Our next Governor needs to be someone people can trust, not someone who is in the world’s newspapers with personal ethics problems. Georgians should not be worried that our state’s chief executive is spending more time worrying about defending himself than helping improve our state.  Read his entire position statement here.

Job Creation – Pennington’s goal is to implement the job growth strategies he successfully implemented in Dalton to statewide Georgia.  Further information on his job creation strategy can be read here and listen to his proven success below.

Tax Reduction and Government Efficiency – “As Mayor, David Pennington cut taxes, wasteful spending and reformed his city budget.  While the region around Dalton continues to struggle, Dalton is doing well with lower unemployment.”  As with job creation, David successfully reduced property taxes in Dalton and turned it into a thriving city.  Read more on his success and plan for Georgia here.

Welfare Reform – “Our next Governor needs to be open to reforming welfare to protect taxpayers and ensure help is there for the truly needy, not just those who are looking for a handout.  Our current Governor has seen the number of people on food stamps rise. Georgia now ranks 6th in the nation for the number of people on food stamps.  That is unacceptable.  We need real welfare reform with an eye on costs both to our society and to the taxpayer.”

#IN-9 U.S. House Candidate Kathy Lowe Heil @kathyforindiana

By @orangeone4

Meet Kathy (from her campaign site)

“Kathy Lowe-Heil does not have a law degree or a PhD.  She is an average American citizen, that has experienced the pain of working all week, to take home half her earnings.  She has tried to live within a budget.  But, the government continues to take more and more of what they believe is their fair share.  She has cut out most luxuries and cut quality on necessities.  Kathy knows that as long as middle income Americans have little or no disposable income, there is no hope for job creation.  Like you and me she is sick and tired of being sick and tired.  She does not have wealth or big business cronies; she does not have a political bloodline.  Kathy Lowe-Heil is a typical taxpaying citizen, the kind our Forefathers intended to run this country. She has enough courage to stand up and say she has had enough, and she is asking you to join the fight to save the American dream.”

IN-9 (@kathyforindiana) (featured here), David Stockdale IN-5 @davidstockdale5 (our blog here), and Andrew McNeil IN-8 (@mcneil4congress) (our blog here).

On The Issues (from her campaign site)

Obamacare – “The best way to make healthcare affordable again is to take the federal government out of the equation. Insurance should be available across state lines and left to the free markets.  The Affordable Care Act is not only unaffordable, it is unconstitutional.  Most regulations on healthcare providers do more to hinder than to guarantee the quality of services provided.”  This tweet, however, raises a yellow flag.

Education – “The federal Department of Education should be eliminated.  Education should be managed at the state and local levels.  Schools should be as competitive as the market they are preparing our children for.  Why should our tax dollars go to the federal government for a portion to trickle back down to the local schools?”

Second Amendment – “‘”Shall not be infringed’,  what part of that do they not understand?”

Tenth Amendment – “The Tenth Amendment reads: ‘The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.’  The 10th Amendment was designed to protect state sovereignty as well as Individual rights.  It is not only the right but the duty of the states to implement the 10th Amendment to deter the dangers related to an all too powerful centralized government.”

Debt and Deficit – “Today the U.S. government borrows over 40 cents of every dollar that it spends.  Our Nation’s debt is greater than our Gross Domestic Product.  It has to stop!  The government (sic) is borrowing against the future of our children and grand children.  Cutting only one cent from every dollar we spend should be something everyone can live with.  Would you really notice if you only spent $99 at the grocery this week instead of $100?  Or $49.50 in the gas tank vs $50.  It is the exact same approach.  Failure to cut that 1% now, will lead to tax increases that exceed 1% by far.  Simply cutting discretionary spending by 1% would reduce federal spending by $7.5 T over 10 years and balance the budget in 6.”

Cautionary Notes

Caution 1 – Kathy’s campaign site is silent on the topic of immigration and border security.  Although Indiana may be far from the border with Mexico, illegal aliens and their criminal behavior are prevalent throughout the U.S.

Caution 2 – Lowe-Heil supports legalization of marijuana and looks to tax revenues as a positive with no discussion about what medical professionals have found to be destructive impacts to children, not to mention the unborn.

Caution 3 – Lowe-Heil’s positions appear Libertarian rather than conservative not to mention the Rand Paul retweets. (read my Beware An April Fool – Rand Paul blog here.)  If a candidate is a Libertarian running on the Republican ticket, that, in my opinion, is deceiving voters.

On The Issues

Immigration – Stockdale’s website is silent on immigration, however, the following tweets  answer the question.

Second Amendment -“The Bill of Rights is not a suggestion! The federal government believes we become safer by forfeiting our rights as American citizens. When Washington tells us that limiting magazine sizes on firearms or targeting specific firearms for elimination will make us safer, it overlooks the failure of gun control in the past and present. It overlooks the root causes of violent crime in our country. Disarming law abiding citizens makes us less safe and emboldens criminals who ignore gun control laws. Anyone who believes that we will never need to protect ourselves from a tyrannical government overlooks the incremental elimination of liberty and the rapid growth of power and size of the federal government in recent history. I will defend without exception every American’s Second Amendment right to bear arms.”

Taxes – Stockdale supports the Fair Tax!  “Until there is enough support in Congress for the Fair Tax, I will oppose tax increases on anyone or any group. I will fight to lower the corporate and personal tax rates…While fighting to simplify the existing tax code, my long term goals are the passage of the Fair Tax and the elimination of the IRS.”  Read his full position statement here.

National Defense and Our Military – “Six of the seventeen enumerated powers of the Constitution pertain to the federal government’s role in providing for the national defense for its citizens. In Congress I will support the government’s role in national defense and ensure we are providing our military and intelligence agencies the resources they need to be successful…Our Armed Forces are filled with well trained and brave patriots who willingly serve to protect our people, our country, and our liberties as Americans…I do not support putting those who serve in the military in conflict without a clear definition of the mission and of what victory will look like. Any conflict must follow the Constitution and be approved by Congress and not be a decision only made by the executive branch.”  Continue reading his position here.

Civil Liberties – Stockdale’s strong statement on the Fourth Amendment to our Constitution: “Allowing the executive branch to indefinitely detain American Citizens without charges or trial on only a suspicion that they may be associated with terrorists is a violation of the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. This violation sets a dangerous precedent for all Americans.”  Read his entire statement here.

Abortion – David’s position statement is clear and concise and one upon which ALL conservatives should concur: “The constitutional function of the federal government is to protect life, liberty, and property. I am a firm believer that life begins at conception. I oppose any public funding for abortions.”

Education – A great 10th Amendment position:  “I believe that local school boards and parents should have control over curriculum and testing standards decisions. I will only support reforms that take control of education away from the Federal Government and put decisions on curriculum and testing standards in the hands of the States who best understand the unique educational needs of their local communities…Parents should have the choice of where to send their children to school or to homeschool without the interference or cumbersome oversight of the federal government.”  Continue reading here.

#IN-8 US House Candidate @McNeil4Congress

If @mjselker @mjs4freedom and @freedomsfool tweet on a candidate, @fourcornersusa1 listens!  Read what @redstate is saying about Boehner’s Bootlickers that rode the Tea Party wave in 2012 and need to be replaced with TRUE #TeaParty candidates Andrew McNeil (featured here), David Stockdale IN-5 (@DavidStockdale5) and Kathy Lowe Heil IN-9 (@kathyforindiana) (featured soon).

McNeil family

Meet Andrew McNeil (IN-8) (@mcneil4congress) – True #TeaParty Candidate

How’s this for an introduction?  It doesn’t leave us wondering where McNeil stands on our Secod Amendment!

And this OUT OF THE PARK tweet:

Read the recommendation here and here.

On The Issues (summarized from his Position page on his campaign site)

Immigration – “America’s borders must be secured…Illegally entering this country shows disrespect for our nation, her traditions, and greatness…(T)herefore I do not support amnesty for illegal immigrants.”

National Security and Military – “I believe a strong, well funded, cutting-edge military is the best deterrent to war. Our troops are called to defend our nation and allies, not police the world.  We owe a huge debt of gratitude to the men and women who have served our country and continue to voluntarily put themselves in harm’s way for us…I support eliminating Homeland Security, reigning in the NSA, and requiring full accountability for all other agencies that have been acquiring firearms.”

Foreign Policy – “The guiding principle of our foreign policy should always be what is in the best interest of the United States.   This means that I do not support the sovereignty of the United States being subjugated by the United Nations.  We must stop sending foreign aid to enemies of the United States and countries who actively support our enemies. I stand with the nation of Israel, our only democratic ally in the unstable Middle East.”

Second Amendment – “The second amendment was passed to ensure a well armed citizenry.  It is a means to protect ourselves, and deter a tyrannical government. It is unconstitutional to limit or regulate a law abiding citizen the right to bear arms. I will fight to protect this right at all costs. I am a member of the NRA.”

Education – “Every parent should have a choice in their child’s education.  Our schools should not be regulated or controlled by the federal government. It is the role of individual states, local communities, and especially parents to decide how and where children are educated.  I support homeschool, and private and charter schools as viable alternatives to traditional public education.”  McNeil was homeschooled and is a HUGE supporter!

Energy Independence – “America is rich in natural resources. Oil and natural gas are plentiful on our own continent.  The federal government must open the gateway for utilizing our own oil fields…I support American oil and coal companies and responsible energy exploration.”

Obamacare – “I am against ObamaCare and all that it stands for. This monstrosity will fund abortions, and assisted suicide, control who will live, and die, and wreck our economy.  It must be overturned in Congress.  This is urgent and critical to ensure the survival of America as it was founded.  I support free market reforms for healthcare including, but not limited to, health savings accounts, tort reform, and insurance portability.”

Debt and Deficit – I believe our government should live within its means and should be held to the same standards as every Hoosier family…It is time for our government to “cut up the credit cards”, live on a budget, pay off debts and save for the future.”  Watch his video here.
